Mantra, Kirtan & Bhakti Yoga in Austin, TX

At Sukha Yoga Austin, mantra is integral to our offerings and the richness you will experience in taking a class with us is in part due to our commitment to the full 8 limbs of yoga and the heart of Bhakti.
The voice is an instrument. Chanting together is a technology for presence. And devotion, in the Bhakti tradition, is the direct path to the heart.

Sukha has been a home for mantra, kirtan, and Bhakti yoga in Austin for over 11 years.
It inspires our weekly classes, our seasonal events, our teacher trainings, and in the inspiration
our teachers bring to the mat every single day.

What Is Bhakti Yoga?

Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of devotion - one of the oldest and most universal paths within the yogic tradition. Where other yoga paths emphasize physical discipline, philosophical study, or meditative stillness, Bhakti moves through the heart. It uses love, devotion, and sacred sound as its primary tools.

At Sukha, Bhakti philosophy is the root that everything else grows from. It's why our teachers lead from the heart. It's why our classes are designed to open and soften you in the most beautiful of ways.

Mantra at Sukha is Devotional, Joyful, and Inclusive

Our approach to mantra is simple: everyone has a voice, and everyone deserves a practice that helps them use it.

Sukha's mantra practice draws from traditional Sanskrit, Vedic, Buddhist, and Hindi chanting lineages, honoring the depth and history of these traditions while making them genuinely accessible to modern practitioners. We also create original mantras and offer playful, heartfelt renditions of familiar songs in English.

The goal is never performance or singing perfectly or knowing the words before you arrive. Sukha's communal chanting is designed to be emotive, inclusive, and real.
Every class led by Erinn Arizcorreta, Mark Herron, and Morgan Bosworth includes mantra and call-and-response chanting woven into the opening and close of class.

Sukha's founder Erinn Arizcorreta is the author of Devotion: 36 Mantras for the Living Path - a collection of traditional and original mantras drawn from years of practice, study, and teaching at the intersection of Bhakti philosophy, yogic tradition, and everyday life.

The mantras in Devotion span traditional Sanskrit and Vedic chanting, Buddhist practice, Hindi devotional song, and Erinn's own original compositions. They are designed as living practice and moments of connection you can return to daily, use in meditation, or share with students.

Seasonal Kirtan Events In Person & Livestreamed

Several times each year, Sukha hosts full kirtan evenings. A gathering that regularly draw 50 or more practitioners. These events feature live harmonium, guitar, drums and vocals led by Erinn, Morgan Bosworth and guest musicians, with the entire community chanting together in call-and-response.

Sukha's seasonal kirtans are ticketed events held in studio and simultaneously livestreamed for practitioners who can't be there in person. Members receive special pricing. Past kirtans have gathered practitioners from across Austin and beyond, connecting people through the simple, ancient technology of chanting together.

Upcoming kirtan dates will be listed on our Events page a month in advance. Livestream tickets are available to join from anywhere in the world.
