Why Women Need Each Other More Than Ever

Why Women Need Each Other More Than Ever - A tender reflection by Erinn Arizcorreta

Women have always gathered born from our innate longing to tend to the heart, reflect, feel and heal together. Long before social media made it trendy to come together for healing circles or retreats or the word self care became part of our vocabulary, we found each other. We cooked and shared meals together. Sat with tenderness or joy together through births and deaths and all the in between moments. We have created life and art and beauty in this world along side eachother. We leaned on the wisdom of the women around us because we knew, deep down, that life was not meant to be carried alone. In a world of urgency and productivity we have moved so far away from these deep needs, that we may not even know how to touch friendship and intimacy with one other without meeting the familiar anxieties and walls our beautiful hearts have constructed in order to function in a world that thrives on our insecurities and profits as long as we see ourselves as needing to be fixed or changed.

At our core, we are wired for connection.
For honest conversations.
For shared moments that soften the body.
For the simple relief of being understood without having to explain every detail.

Life has gotten louder. Faster. More demanding. We have become experts at holding it all and all too often at the expense of the softer places inside us.

Many of us have reached a point where the pressure is too much and our bodies, minds and inner world are starting to reflect this holding on for dear life energy. There are little and bog signals that something is off.
And we are seeking spaces, experiences and reflections in human form that show us the real, the relatable and the path we can walk side by side as we restore and attune back to harmony.

And here is what I have learned, over and over again, both in my own healing and in the rooms where I sit with women.

We cannot return to ourselves alone.

When women gather with intention, something ancient wakes up. There is a resonance that is revealed when we slow down in service of our collective peace. There’s a moment when we look around the room and think, “Oh. I’m not the only one.” And in that moment, the healing begins. Ahhhhh I can feel my body exhale just imagining those moments. You are not alone. I am not alone.

It happens when we share a breath.
It happens when we feel the presence of other women beside us.
It happens when someone says the thing we’ve been holding in our chest for months.
It happens when we allow ourselves to be seen.
It happens when another woman says, “thank you for trusting me with this” “I see you” “I’m here with you”, “I get it”

The world asks so much from women. It asks us to stay strong, keep moving, keep up, keep giving. But the truth is that strength without community becomes survival. And survival is not the life your soul came here to live.

Gathering helps us remember who we are.
It helps us feel our bodies again.
It returns us to our intuition.
It reconnects us to joy, softness, and clarity.
It reminds us that we belong to something larger than our own thoughts.

This is why I host retreats and circles.
This is why I create spaces where women can exhale and be real.
This is why I believe so deeply in the power of community.

You are welcome here.
Truly.
Exactly as you are.

I see you. I am a reflection of you. And I am honored to walk this path beside you.
If this resonates with you - I invite you to join me for my women’s half day retreat in Austin, Texas this January. (Registration and Details Here)
